Super AIT tape media delivers up to 500GB of native capacity on a single-reel cartridge and features a sustained native transfer rate of up to 30MB per second uncompressed. The Memory-in-Cassette chip stores the cartridge's system log and file search information. This information can be used immediately by the drive, enhancing data access, improving media management and reducing overall latency. SAIT allows access to cartridge statistics without loading, rewinding or handling the tape, reducing tape wear and tear.
